The others are correct. A large part of the calories that we burn are a result of maintaining body temperature. If you drink cold water then, theoretically, your body will have to work to regain that temperature. But unless you drink a large amount, the temperature will be insignificant.

In general cool water helps to refresh the body, and replenish water in your body. If you want to burn calories work out. Cold water won't burn enough to worry about.

yes you burn more, but how much energy are you wasting to cool that water? How much coal are you burning to make the electricity to make your water cold.

The calorie difference is so small that you would be better off drinking your room temp water, and then burn those extra callories by doing something as simple as washing the glass and putting it away - that should ammount to the same callorie count, if not more.

yes because your body has to work harder at warming the water, however don't drink cold water after a workout cos it's no good for you as you're bodys already working

I have heard that it is true. Your body works harder to warm the water up to body temp.

i really dont think its a significant amount of calories, why would you NOT drink cold water?

not sure if you burn more calories but it's true that if you drink ice water it's speeds up your matabolism

You probably burn more calories walking to the fridge. Just imagine if you ran to the fridge!!!

yes that's true. but the calories burned is so minimal that it won't affect your weight.

yup however you shouldn't drink cold drinks with foods cuz then they solidify faster in your system... that's why chinese drink hot tea with their meals.
