I would say my dad, since he taught my mom how to cook; We had a garden growing up and we often went to the big open air farmer's market for that we didn't grow. He did home cooking and he also hunted and prepared dishes from rabbit, deer, etc. We got a variety of different foods to try even though we lived in the inner city. One thing my mom had my dad beat with hands down was my mom made buttermilk biscuits from scratch at least 3-4 times a week. They melted in your mouth! Mmmmm, good!!!

Neither. My Mom could make Spam. My Dad had no idea had to turn on an oven. The funny thing is I am a professionally trained chef. We have no idea where the "genes" came from. The one thing my Dad could make for us kids was "hoe-overs". This was 1 slice of bread with peanut butter and jelly and "folded-over". He would make it in his hand and squish it together. We kids used to fight over who had more "fingerprints", ie how much he squished the bread. My Dad would settle the argument by re-sguishing the complainer's sandwich.

My dad was a much better cook than my step mom, but he hardly ever cooked for us. His mom was a chef and had her own restaurant and he learned from her when he was young. My favorite things he cooked were Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Curry :)

Both my parents cook ok, but my mom is probably the best, and she cooked the most. My uncle is probably the best cook in my family. He makes things that I won't eat if they're made by anyone else.

Typical 1950s household, Mom did all the cooking; Dad did the bar-b-quing; can't ever remember them switching roles.
