Well, it still has the biggest number of Christians and using your thesis, it is possible that evil would strike at that which stands in its way. I am not Catholic by the way, but Satan does hate so that which has any truth of God.

The reason there may be a large amount of insults against the Catholic Church has to do with history. I personally don't need to tell anyone but God what I have done wrong. The way I read the bible, the Catholic Church goes against what the bible teaches. There is no reason why you need to pray to anyone else but God himself. I don't think Mary or Sebastian or any other saint can do anything for me. As far as I'm concerned, Jesus shouldn't still be on the cross. I'm not saying that the Catholic church is the only denomination that has ever been in the news for doing things that go against the grain, but it seems to be there the most.
On the flip side, there is a lot of vehemence against other religions like Islam. Does that mean it's the true religion (church)?

The Scriptures indeed teach that the world is going to hate believers on account of Jesus testifying that what it does is evil. It will in essence hate you because you are good and of God.
With that being said, many people have grievances with the Catholic Church. Not because they stand against evil but because they have a long history of doing things contrary to Scripture and the latest outbreak of pedophilia didnt help its cause much either. Im afraid the Catholics are suffering for their past sins as well as their present theology and have about as much right to claim victim status as a Nazi would have after WW2.

Your point is well taken. It seems that people either love or hate the Catholic Church but they are never just neutral. And the most adamant anti-Catholics are Catholics themselves who have left the Church. I would say they just can't live with themselves.

I am not Catholic! I once wanted to be one. But not now!
I was willing to overlook the past crimes against humanity.
But not now! Too many priest abuse children!
May that church get the gifts from God it deserves!

Dear friend and fellow Catholic. We cannot even convince many to accept that we are Christians.

Not really. Protestantism came from it, and it's nearly three times older. Seems like the original to me, insults or not.

If that were the sole measure of spiritual authenticity, then it would appear that Judaism is the one true religion.
