My hair used to be very soft and smooth, and now it gets tangled everytime I turn around! It'll be fine for about a week, but then it gets so tangled that it takes me literally 3 hours to undo it! I wash, condition and brush my hair everyday. I do go to sleep with it wet, down, and uncombed, but I brush it in the morning. What should I do? I'm tired of this!!

Additional info: I have straight hair. I dye it, and use Pantene Pro-V moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I don't really style it, so I don't blowdry it or use any other gels or sprays on it. Hope this helps!

Going to bed with wet hair isn't a good idea and this is where you are making a big mistake, I believe. When you lie down with wet hair, it will not only dry up in tangles it will also collect all the dust/fibers on your pillow and blanket and this will get entangled in your hair.

After shampooing , rinse your hair and dry it a little. Apply a good hair conditioner, leave for a few minutes, comb through ( it is easier this way ) rinse conditioner off hair and dry gently. Comb through again. Put it up in a bun. You will find it easier to comb in the morning. Experience.

use detangling conditioner& shampoo Frizz Ease has good detangling line so does Paul Mitchell . at night after you shower take each piece of your hair and french braid each piece of your hair.while the conditioner is on it wake up ain the morning and unbraid it an you'll have less tangles. I do this to my hair every nite because i have that problem too but i have that curly hair like Kelis .it works

Well, don't go to bed with it wet & uncombed, that's not good for it,dry it & comb it through, then put it in a ponytail if it's long. Another thing, you may be using to many products on your hair, if that the case, rinse your hair with vinagar, that will take out all the products.

A friend of mine had the same problem. She tried cutting her hair, straightening, perming, several other thousand things. She eventually decided to switch shampoos one more time after she cut all of her gorgeous hair off. She eventually switched to the Sunsilk line of shampoo and it did wonders for her. She used the shampoo AND the conditioner for her hair type. She regrets cutting her hair off now but her short hair is gorgeous none-the-less.

Leave in conditioner, Try not to use a lot of heating styling tools also. Try to avoid hairspray or putting your hair up (like in a bun) That could cause breakage. Good luck!

Put a band-aide on it! JK

I wouldn't go to bed with it wet. And I would use a leave in conditioner.
