I don't think KFC's mash potatoes are that great. They seem to me like the ones you get at a school cafeteria. Here's a recipe anyways.

When I was a kid, we had mashed taters and gravy every day
and I couldnt stand KFC, but like you I now like them, especially
the gravy. I dont know if they changed the recipe or not or my
tastes have changed. I just stop by once in a while and get a
large container. I wouldnt want to eat it all the time as I think its
on the no-no list.

Those "mashed potatoes" are made from the chickens beak, feathers and toenail clippings and cannot be made from potatoes. KFC likes to use the whole chicken. Also you will need floor sweepings from your local KFC, so you will have to get a worker there to snag you some.

They use dehydrated potatoes. That stuff is crap! Use real potatoes red or brown. Mash with heavy cream ,Chicken Broth and lots of butter. Salt and pepper. Yummmy! May not be fat free but they are sure a heck of a lot better than KFC.

They use Potato Pearls, dry powdered potatoes, and add hot water, S&P to it. The gravy is a mix, but uses the "crunchies" or bits of fried chicken coating that fall off in the pressure cooker when making original recipe chicken. That's pretty hard to copy!

KFC uses a dry mix-potato pearls I think,(but any dry or box of flaked spuds will do) tons of salt, a little pepper and hot water.
