Yep...Not if you think of humanity as a species of mammal, but if you think of it like a virus or bacterium, then it makes sense.

Of course it's possible. All it takes is a well-fed, fecund population that is not hit by too many plagues or environmental disasters. The issue is not whether it's possible, but do you buy all the other mythology built around the young earth cosmology, which makes no sense in the scientific community.
The only way that the young earth cosmology survives is that a religious war arises, similar to the Chinese cultural revolution or the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, in which the intellectuals are murdered or jailed. If that were to happen, we'd have more to worry about than religious delusions.

It really doesn't matter but here's the explanation.
The flood was in the area where the bible was written not over the whole world. In that time period there world was very limited. They generally didn't cross the large bodies of water and If you had 50 square miles flooded they would assume it was the world. When the water receded they found other people. This was not important to the story so was not included.

easy. for example take a family of 2 get married yr 1
y2 she has 1 child and proceeds to have one child a year for the next 6 yrs. In 8yrs they are a family of 10.
Fastforward 8yrs. the oldest is now 15 she has baby. 16 yrs 11 family members 3 generations.
since people act like they don't know how parent kids these days the eldest will have at least 2 more kids by time she is 19 and at least 2 more of their kids will have 2 or more kids before exiting their teens. so we are now at 18 and counting in less than 25 years. When you figure in the remaining children and the kids that they are going to have you will have a family of 30 or more in 30 years and the grandparents will just be in their 50's. Now multiply this time just ten families and you are at 300+ people. times 30 years you are over 10k ppl.
When you throw in customs and traditions associated with having children you will arrive at the total we are at today.

Swedenborg said that the first literal person in the Bible is Abraham. That is chapter 11 and after Noah's Flood parable.
If you want to know a lot - read Swedenborg's theology.

It's probably not all that unreasonable, actually, if you assume everyone has a few kids and there are no major wipeouts. However, there were - plagues, famine, etc. And even if it could be feasible, it doesn't prove anything.
