I'm not sure what you mean!!
I dated a police officer for several years & I didn't notice that he or his friends were ISOLATED from mainstream culture. They are close to their fellow officers because they understand the stresses of the job. Nobody can understand what they see & do better than another cop. There are SOME that go through depression & isolate themselves from everything, but it is not any different than people who are that way who are NOT police officers. Police officers are like everyone else, except they do a job that most of us couldn't handle for a single shift. They go to church & have families. They like movies & sports, etc. etc. etc.
Like with any profession, some may have their own language. Like everyone else, they have their own values, but MOST ARE BASICALLY LIKE YOU & ME!!!!

When you deal with the scum of the earth day in and day out, I guess this changes the way you deal with regular everyday people.
