Belief in something does not make it true. Atheists don't believe there is a hell because it is unsupported and illogical. Chrisitans believe there is a hell because they read it in a book and had some old man yell at them about it for years. Hell is obviously something that was invented by religion. The first notion of the kind of hell mentioned in the bible was held by the Zoroastrians. It was incorporated into Christianity around the time of Jesus. Nowhere in the old testament will you find a reference to hell (Sheol is not Hell).

Atheists don't think they're exempt from hell because they don't believe in it, they're not going there because it doesn't exist.
People that believe in hell still aren't going to hell for the same reason, there is no hell.
Apply the same logic to Never Never land, Santa's North Pole workshop, and Superman's fortress.

If there is no Hell, then no one will be going there Atheist, Christian, or whatever. If there is a Hell, then whoever has the right religion gets to heaven and the rest go to hell.

The Hell Law says that Hell is reserved exclusively for them that believe in it. Further, the lowest Rung in Hell is reserved for them that believe in it on the supposition that they'll go there if they don't.

Gotta go with my favorite author on this one:
People only go to hell if that's where they believe, in their deepest heart, that they deserve to go. Which they won't do if they don't know about it. This explains why it is so important to shoot missionaries on sight.
-- Terry Pratchett, Eric
And before anyone gets all hot under the collar about incitement to violence, it's a quote from a work of fiction. In real life, you just hide behind the sofa until they go away.

There is no hell for them either, they get the same end we Atheists have been rational enough to accept. Nothing, the end, fade out to oblivion. We understand that weak people need a make-believe fairy-tale land so that they can delude themselves into buying a pile of crap to mollify their inferior egos and simplistic fears.

just because people believe there IS a hell doesn't mean they go there. if you sin a lot or kill someone or anything like that you will go to hell. the truth is no one knows where we go when we die.......

I believe in Hell, and I've already been there. It's called life on Earth. I'm trying to get me outta here! I work on it every day.
