I've had two of them in the past.. The first one I bought from a different company didn't work at all and leaked water everywhere.OOOh I was sooo mad! I bought another one and that one worked perfectly. Go figure. It might depend on the brand and the tightness of the weave as to whether it will hold water in or not.You always have the option of taking it back and get a refund. However,If it does work you're going to love it!Every so often you'll have to toss it in the washer with some OXyclean or a tiny bit of bleach. It'll come out brand new.

Go with a plastic liner, you can find them cheap at most dollar stores, because anything that gets on the liner you can toss it. The shower curtain will mildew or show water spots and look unclean.

I would get a liner...and you'll want to toss it periodically because the water will make it mildew. I've also heard of people bleaching the plastics liners in the washer - I haven't tried it but sounds logical as long as you don't dry it in heat.

You could but you sure do not have to. It may last a little longer, but the fact is shower curtains last about 6 months. Then they start looking bad.

Yes! I had some friends in college that thought the same thing and the end result was mildew, mold, and a funky smell!

Yes, you need a plastic liner.
You can get a cheap clear one at the dollar store.
Or more a higher quality one elsewhere.
