My stylist (black lady) said, " ah-ah you got black peoples hair..."
so this should give you an idea of why I know these things....
and no I'm not gay, but I like to manage and take care of my hair, so I hope this is good help.

I'm doing the same thing as well and I can tell you somethings that will work for growing

1) Have enough sleep
2) Drink lots of water
3) Eat right (not only enough meals, but also healthy food)
4) Don't smoke
5) Take Hairtopia pills, I take them and they work, you can read the reviews about it at Hairboutique.com....1 inch of growth per month minimum! thats twice the regular growth of hair

Oh and those pills help grow out your nails and smoothen skin, not that I would care, but since you are a woman, thought you should know.

Now for the moisturizing part because black peoples hair needs moisturizing. PHYTO is an expensive line but they work like magic, you can read the reviews (they even have black people raving about it at hairboutique.com or drugstore.com

If you relax your hair, use the shampoo they have specificly for relaxed hair...if not you can use one of they're moisturizing shampoos, or the PhytoBrush Shampoo which is to protect hair from blowdrying...
After shampooing, use and instant hyrdration conditioner that they have (the rinse off one)
once a week use a deep conditioner they have thats a mask....its in a blue jar

Once you get out, towel dry your hair to 75% and use a thermal protectant, then apply Phyto's relaxing balm which is the best anti frizz there is....then proceed with blowdrying....your hair should look good at this point. If you want more, well use BioSilk Therapy (not from PHYTO, it's a different company) and flat iron your hair....if you want the best flat iron that works great for Ethnic hair, use Sedu 1 1/2" read all its review and pics at foica.com

Follow by Phyto's leave-in conditioner which is Phyto 7 or 9 depending on how much moisture you want to add....

Hope I've been great help.

i am black woman. i wash my hair every week. after washing i use a leave in conditioner. i use products by profectiv (strength of nature) and carols daughter products. i wrap my hair and sit under a hood dryer for about 45 minutes. apply some lite oil and use a wide tooth comb to unlosen the wrap and flat iron my hair and apply some moisture therapy (by profectiv) after flat ironing, i apply some hair elixir (by carols daughter) and wrap my hair up again. i use a satin head scraf. during the week i just wrap my hair at night, use some hair elixir maybe twice a week. the reason that a wrap my hair is because its easier to deal wit in the morning and that eliminates having to use a flat iron which can cause a damage to my hair. once hair is trained is easier because you dont have to use a brush which i have found to break my ends off sometimes. plus after the washing and using the leave in conditioner i dont need to use a brush when wrapping it. i only use a perm is every 8 weeks. i use a kiddy perm because it doesnt have all the lye that adult perms do. plus its more gently on the scalp and its more healthy meaning it doesnt leave all of the damage. i have been doing this for a bout 6 months now and i have notice a difference in my hair right away. my hair hasnt been more healthy. i also take biotin vitamins which helps maintain healthy skin and hair.

As a White Man of Viking descent I realize I am not supposed to comment on a topic like this, but I really don't care. My wife is Chinese, and I find women of all races and colors to be beautiful. I think the reason why white women and black men date is for the same reasons why I have dated black women and Asian women. They look good. I have dated black women and been very satisfied with the experiences due to the unbelievable hotness of black women. All women are beautiful, and if I was a straight white women, I believe I would find men of all races and colors to be beautiful. Thank God I am a man because I like to be the man, and I have found women of all races like to submit to my masculine nature. It is the natural order of the human species for women to be submissive and men dominant. In my experiences I have found black women to be much more submissive than white women, and white women more submissive than Asian women. Maybe that's why I like black women so much, they make me feel manly. As far as white people being less evolved than blacks, that is just an ignorant racist remark most likely made by a very miserable person. It is true there have been many wonderful civilizations in Africa throughout history, but the same should also be said of Europe, Asia, and the Americas. For anyone to believe one race superior to another is small-minded indeed. Please keep your mind open to people from other cultures and races. The human species has had enough senseless violence and bloodshed because of close-mindedness. If two people love each other than that is that. It may be natural to want all the people of one's race to not date interracially, but that is just not a realistic viewpoint. People are going to date whoever they want, and anyone else's opinion is of no consequence. This issue has nothing to do with uncontrolled immigration by the way. That is just plain stupidity.

Well I don't wash my hair that often! Once a week really! We usually use the oils that our hair and scalp naturally produce! Other races don't have the same hair shaft and folicles we have! Don't was your hair that often! Make sure you eat healthy and sleep well! Our hair breaks easy when we're confused or stressed out! Take plenty of Vitamins and drink plenty of water! Heavy conditioning and hot oil treatments! Don't ever go cheap on your hair! NEVER think cheap! Cheap products will give you just what you paid for! Spend the extra money and Go make appointments with your stylist! Less heat at home! Try air dying your hair! And less pulling on the hair! When it's wet it's "weeker" than it is dry! Try to get a trim once a month! The more you train the hair the more it will grow!

Wash your hair once a week with a moisturizing shampoo and deep condition with a protein conditioner to help strengthen your hair. Before detangling, spray your hair with a good leave in conditioner to help prevent breakage. If your hair is relaxed then you need lots of moisture so moisturize with a good product everyday or every other day. If you can, buy some glycerine from the drugstore and mix with your moisturizer as glycerine attracts moisture to your hair. Make sure that the ends of your hair gets the most moisturizer as this helps prevent split ends.

Products I use are:
Organic Root Stimulator (ORS) Creamy Aloe shampoo/ Uplifting shampoo -shampoo
ORS Hair Mayo - conditioner
Infusium 23 - leave in
ORS Olive Oil moisturizer/carrot oil moisturizer - moisturizer

Hope this helps.

I shampoo and condition my hair every other week. I apply a leave in conditioner with Lusters Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion and then apply Lotta Body Setting Lotion and roll up my hair. I do not apply any type of heat to my hair. I wear a relaxer and I roll up my hair nightly. Messaging the scalp and apply moisture will cause hair growth. That's all your hair needs to grow. I use Mane 'N Tail Hair products all of the time. I stay away from heat type appliances, I do not use rubber bands in my hair. I wrap up my hair in a silk scarf after I roll it up every night. I use extra wide tooth comb when combing my hair. I hardly brush my hair. I wear my hair in spiral curls durning the weekdays and the week ends I wear my hair down in loose curls.
