pontiac radio display?

Question

Pontiac most late models 2003 to 2006 grand prix,grand am,
i seen to many over 12 vehicles with the same problem display is off or half of the display is working
Radio and CD player work fine the only problem is the display
happends when
car is in car accident
going over a speed bump fast
wprking in the vehicle near the radio
taking the radio off to install fm modulator

any ideas and people if you don't know what you are talking about

I have seen what I beleive to be the type of display you're talking about. If you shine a flashlight at the display, do you see very thin wires going across the dispaly itself? If so, these are a gas charged neon type displays as best I can describe by educated guess.

I've never had a chance to really study how these work or what voltages charge them, except for the fact that I have made the wires glow with power supplied (I was very young at the time).

I think that these were the old Delco/Bluapunkt HU's.

It's an LED driven dispaly and I'm not sure why this happens.

In either case, I can't say I've ever witnessed the things you describe. Strange.
