I went this weekend to the largest Diwali party in Cary North Carolina...they had 30,thousand Indian ppl there...the best, food, dances and nicest ppl...I overheard the Cary Police Officer saying, in all them 6 years...they never had any problems....

Hey, I also attended the Cary, NC Diwali festival, though I went in '04. It was really nice and my friend and I wore our salwar kameez and blended right in, lol! The highlight was a tie between the fireworks and when the d.j. brought everyone on stage to dance and sing. It was a very colorful mosh pit, lol!
Never knew what exactly was celebrated, just that it was a Hindu holiday. It was really nice to experience all the culture that surrounded the festival. The food, the henna, the drop-dead gorgeous jewelry, and of course the little trinkets!
