everytime I open microsoft word, it has an image I placed on there one time. I try deleting doc1, but it still shows that. then I click file>new and have a blank document, but "the blank document" is really that same image

Sounds weird. You may have to check your preference settings. Did you try using the various ways of getting a blank page, like the icon to the far left, or the task pane blank document?

Do not click on file, look under the word file and you will see what looks like a blank page of paper, click on that. It will give you a clean document.

When you first pull up Microsoft Word, it will give you a blank screen. If not then go to file and click on new document..

Get Open Office, for FREE, at http://openoffice.org because:

1. it doesn't treat users like that

2. It can open a blank page, and save same!

3. it can import ALL Microsoft file types, convert them to any other file type, and export them, as any file type!

you over wrote normal.dot, which is the standard template, with one with the image in it. Open a new document and delete the image then save is as a template file called normal.dot.

maybe your defaults are screwy, try going to tools then options to checkout all your default settings, can you just delete the image manually each time you need a blank page until you figure it out?

your sofware is messed up. My dad had the same problem and had to install a new disk. You can get them at your local electronic store.
