Hey,

To build muscle mass (as it sounds from your question), eat about 1.2 grams of protein per kilogram body weight.

Rounded up, that is 80 grams per day (1 kg = 2.2 pounds).

Keep in mind that muscle is composed of cells like any other ones found in your body. Thus, carbohydrates, fats, and vitamins are also essential to optimize muscle growth.

Don't skip the carbohydrates (like bread, pasta, or apples) and you will be huge before you know it - naturally!

Good luck!

Sadly, the suppliment industry has perverted American logical thought on nutrition requirements. Every American gets adequate protien intake without any form of supplimentation. The body needs only 30-50 grams of protien per day, which was the recommended amount prior to the influx of schemes and products from the suppliment companies which shells out millions of dollars every year to produce and publish bogus studies suggesting people consume ungodly amounts of protien. Think about it--1-2 grams per pound of bodyweight!? LOL. You'd have to consume 5000 or more calories to do that, and you'd be obese. How in heaven's name did the human race survive without protien shakes? We don't need that much, bottom line. It is actually quite impossible to consume a normal amount of calories each day and NOT get adequate protien--protien is found in literally everything we eat.

Don't buy into the billion dollar scam industry of excess protien supplimentation. Eat a balanced, healthy diet and your needs will be met.

Depends. If you want to have bigger muscles then aim for a gram of protein per pound of weight. However, that's hard to do and probably not that healthy. Go for about 100 grams a day spread out over 4 -5 meals and you should do good. Also lift weights to make the protein go to the muscles.

1-2 grams perday should be plenty. Any more and your body will get rid of it through urination. Also; make sure your drinking plenty of water.
