go out for a "nature walk" and observe the:
1).chilly weather
2). Leaves. pick them up and look at the different shapes and sizes.
3).pick up pinecones. paint them with sparky things to represent a snowed on tree.
4)let them observe what they think makes fall, fall!
5). have a party and make them bring in or draw fall things (leaves, pumpkins, ect.)
6).maybe do a play of leaves blown away or something physical.
most important of all, they should have fun!

You could do a lot of things! You can go out with your kids, and find some different coloured leaves. You could use those to make a fall wreath with them!
This is intended for 6+, but you can get some ideas from this:
http://www.dltk-holidays.com/fall/mfallwreath.html
www.dltk-holidays.com is a good site to go to, when you want to find something to do for your class.
A nature walk is good too. You could teach them about wildlife in the fall, as well.
I hope I helped! =D

Make up a poem or a song they will like it and remember it !!
Fall is fun
Fall is great
Fall is the season I appreciate
It is fun with colorful leaves
I never want fall to leave me
Holidays like Holloween
Oh Golly here comes that rain! SPLAT!!!
Or for their homework , they could go outside and put different leaves in a bag and bring the leaves to school and see what they found and learned you could also have them see if the weather in fall is Warm,Hot or,Cold.

There are web sites from printer companies like HP that have a lot of downloadable craft projects those kids would like.
Staples also has a division that is oriented toward teachers and has a lot of ideas on their web site - it is called smilemakers.com
