First of all I want to start off by saying that I believe in God. I've been noticing that when people ask a question regarding gay sex or gay marriage, many people make the statement, "It is an abomination of God." How can this be? The bible was written by men. Now, many people believe this is "the word of God," but how can we really be sure? I think that much of the controversy we have created in our world is overly dramatized. Why is it so hard to believe that God created gay people? Is it really much of a stretch to think that God intended for us to use stem cells in cures? I think we have gotten so caught up in what "men" have written down in the Bible, that we have ignored God's original plan for all of us. We are not looking at the big picture. There are so many wonderful things waiting to be discovered from God. When are we going to open our eyes?

God created man and instructed the same to write what he said.
Therefore the Bible has all the knowledge we need.

People pick and choose from the bible and other "divine" books to suit their own biases and opinions. It's always been that way, nothing new. For instance, the example you mentioned -- about homosexuality being "an abomination" -- is listed in Leviticus. Two verses away from the prohibition against homosexuality is a "law" stating that when women are menstruating they must stay in their homes for 5 days, and anyone that touches them is "unclean" and has to undergo a ritual cleansing. Anyone who breaks those rules is also "an abomination in the eyes of the lord." Yet I don't see women staying hidden for days, or people not touching them... Because we've gone past our ignorant ancestors' superstitions, and now know there's nothing "unclean" about a mensturating woman. But...it's just as much as law as the homosexual ban, and is in the same book, why can't we get past that as well? Most of us can, it's just certain people that stick with their pig-headed notions and then try to use the bible (inconsistently!) to back up their own biases.

This all comes from US -- if there is a god (and I doubt it), he's not causing anyone's hatred, he's not sending us to any wars...he's not doing anything. That's the big picture.

When you believe in God, you believe in Jesus, right? You believe he is who he says he is, he'll do what he said he'll do, etc. etc. The Bible says that it is the inspired, inerrant word of God, so it must be. (Now did Jesus say that? That I don't know, I'd have to look it up). It's an all or nothing kind of belief.
Now, I believe God created gay ppl. I also believe it's possible for them to change - just read Philippians 4:13 ("I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.") Since God says homosexuality is a sin, it must be. I am not homosexual so I can't speak for them. I imagine it must be so much harder to be gay - I know lots of ppl who say, why would we willingly be like this if we had the choice? It's all a mystery, really... I'm still figuring out myself, so I won't claim to have all the answers...
But best of luck & God bless :)

If we don't seek to discover what God has said, are we not simply relying upon the wisdom of men? Those who have known God, have come to trust in Him...and therefore trust in what He says - not leaning upon our own understanding. Are not His ways far above our ways?

Also, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” If we have faith in Jesus, how then can we not have faith in the Word of God? For it is even written of Jesus, "The Word became flesh and made its dwelling among us."

"Why is it so hard to believe that God created gay people?"

Because it is the opposite of what the bible says.

Why is it so difficult for you to accept that?

If you want to be gay fine. But don't kid yourself and think God is pleased.

To some, the Bible is the basis for their actions and decisions.
Men wrote the Bible, but they were inspired by God.
How can it be? Read in your Bible about Lot, and how his wife turned into a pillar of salt. The whole town was immoral.

I think it must be because they can't find enough validity in their own answers and so they have to cite a heavenly source.
Just a guess.
