I am planning to go to Bangkok end of October and I have a friend who lives there. Is that close to the airport? Is it easy to find? How do I go there? Any Landmark for me to find it easyly?

I am guessing it is near Limiphini Park which is near the CBD or Central Business District. The apartment appears to be in the Klong Toei area. It is difficult to get a taxi to take you to the apartment because there are so many nooks and cranny type streets. Plus the Thai do not produce clear maps. And they are a bit behind the western world on putting information on the internet. Plus there are differences in pronunciation and spelling that could drive you nuts. You should ask your friend the best place to meet then take a taxi to his/her apartment. I would think it would be a department store or mall like Central Shopping mall on Silom Road would be convenient. At least you could wait at one of the restaurants.

Good luck

I suggest you ask your friend directly.

Thailand is daunting place to get around for the first time
if you do not speak English.

The addres is close to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center MRP (underground train station). But the underground from the airport to the city will not be complete for another year at beast.

I suggest you get your friend to meet you at the airport or get a taxi. But the taxi drivers can be dodgey and hardly speak english. hmm you could get your friend to write the address in thai. also remember to check the taxi has his meter on and have the right change..lots of 100baht note or you will screwed!
