(1).If people are different. What difference does it make? They all read the same book(bible) right? They shud be gettign the same message out of one book. One book cannot give contradicting theories.

(2). I am not 12. Maybe you should check your grammar and spelling.

1. People are different, people have different opinions.
2. Do you expect people to give a single unified answer just because they are counted in a group? Do you really expect individuals to give that kind of answer when they don't even know each other?
3. Improve your grammar and spelling. You sound like you're 12.

Disagreement on an issue is not necessarily indicative of the falsity of an issue or lack of knowledge concerning the issue. Contradictions abound in almost every field and subject matter you can think of. There are contradictory theories with respect to the causes of cancer, diabetes, how evolution works, and how to best to run a democracy. Do these contradictions imply that cancer is not real, or that diabetes does not exist, or that evolutionary theory is not veridical, or that democracy is a bogus system of governance, or that the people that comment on these topics don’t know what they are talking about? Of course not.

Contrary points of view on any issue merely underscores that you have independent minds addressing the same issue in a different manner. Naturally different conclusions will arise.

Some do, some don't.

You also have to understand that the Bible is unclear on certain things. Such as, the Bible really doesn't talk about angels all that much. So, if you are asking about angels, people are usually just giving their own personal opinion, which of course will vary.

If someone tried to back up their statement of beliefs by giving biblical quotes to prove that they had researched their answer and knew what they were talking about, then you would complain about people quoting scripture at you, which means nothing to you. I doubt that any answer would make you happy, since you seem to be predisposed to find fault with Christianity no matter what people say.

You will get different answers from different religions regarding your questions. It's not that people don't get it, it's just that there are many beliefs in this world.

I'm a Mormon, we believe in free will. We call this free agency and believe that all people have the ability to choose how they will live their lives. With this, however we believe that the indivdual will have to accept the consequences for thier choices. We also believe that each person will be judged according to the choices they've made in this life.

As far as Angels go, in my faith, we do believe that they exist, and that they do the work of God.

The bible says You will know them by their fruit. Some Christians have bad fruit because they are not lead by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:13-26. The only answer a Christian should give you regarding a Christian matter is backed up by scripture. Some answers God reserves to Himself.

Hello Atheist Eye Candy,

I checked back on those questions you had asked (this board moves fast!). Your questions are interesting and deserving of good answers. I can understand how flowery language answers of scripture would be annoying to you.

First of all, I'll touch on what a couple of other posters have mentioned: the fact that the bible doesn't talk about the NATURE of angels a great deal. We know they were among God's first creations, and they are 1. Frightening to behold and 2. more powerful than humans 3. filled with human-like weaknesses like lust, anger, jealousy, etc. Beyond these things, the bible seems to center around humanity and God's message for humanity.

To approach your questions of "free will", I'd like to throw this at you: How does faith change the nature of free will?

I've said this in other answers, but it's pertinent to understanding God's relationship with mankind; If God appeared in the sky all of the time, we wouldn't have FAITH, would we? We'd have CERTAINTY. What's the big deal with faith? Why do Christians keep harping about faith?

Faith is an opportunity to show devotion to God. If God appeared to you every time you did something wrong, and threatened to smite you, you'd obey Him to avoid being smitten, wouldn't you? That's not love, that's compunction. God says he loves us, and so He gives us the chance to return that love by demonstrating that He's important.

As an atheist, I'm not sure where you are in terms of a higher power (if any) but don't write Him out of your life just yet.

We know that the angels had free will, because more than a third of them joined with Lucifer and got cast out of Heaven for it. (They're the reason, btw, why God created Hell. It's a place for those who ardently refuse God's path, which says something about those who belong there, doesn't it?)

But trying to figure out the comings and goings of such spiritual beings is beyond humanity. Jesus said "worry about Earthly things before you worry about Heavenly things" and God the Father said "My thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways are not your ways". Angels have free will, some obey and some did not (and paid the price). Humanity has free will, but rarely understands the nature of it. We have faith as an opportunity to prove our worth to God.

I hope this helps. Keep asking tough questions. God wants us to "be discerning".

Some do some do not. You would get the same response asking about history or geography from the general population. Face it many people do not believe that the Holocaust really happened.

you and I could look at the same picture, painting or read the same book or whatever else and have two different interpretations of the same thing because of a number of differences. none of which have to do with religious issues. our ethnic background, education, part of the country, age, gender, etc. so naturally there are differences as we all have free will to choose how we see things.

In any kind of religion or sect the followers only know what the leader want them to know, the human mind is weak and people have the tendency to believe, in hope there is a continuation of this life beyond, in reality is not, now knowing their religion is a different story, the answer is no they don't... cyb

No, they don't. Most even think that Jesus was born on December 25. I have been told that I will go to hell because I told people that Christmas is pagan in origin. This was when I was Christian.
