Yes it is. Ironic punishment is always the most fitting punishment.

Hi Tofu Jesus.

Haven't seen you in awhile.

Where do you come up with "catholic proverbs" when the only proverbs Catholics us are from the Book of Proverbs?

The sad thing is that many sinners already believe their own lies. Even sadder is that this is also true of Christians...

It may be true. That was OJ Simpson's punishment, though many believe it wasn't harsh enough. After all, he still gets to play golf.

Don't we all lie to ourselves sometimes? I mean, when things get really bad, don't we tell ourselves and others "everything is going to be fine" when we actually know that it probably isn't? It's human nature to decieve ourselves, however, lying about being, say rich, isn't going to make me rich no matter how much I believe it.

if you tell a lie often enough and it is big enough then people will start believing the lie rather than the truth.

Tofu - you know that I enjoy your thought provoking questions, so please do not take offense at this:

To me, that sounds like a Catholic attempt at sounding philisophical....and not a good one at that. It is common knowledge that liars beleive the lies they tell....its not punishment at all....

Actually, the bible speaks of God sending strong delusion to those who will not believe Him. Very similiar.
