Why doesn't the Holy Spirit just enlighten us without the Bible? We know it doesn't affect freewill because the Holy Spirit will be using his powers on us either way.

In reference to your comment "the Holy Spirit will be using his powers on us", the Holy Spirit is not forceful or some power that takes you over without your control, pray that God would give you more revelation about this matter. Here are some good scriptures to read: John 14:16, Romans 8:26&27, Romans 15:30, Galatians 5:18-23, 1Corinthians 2:10-13, Ephesians 1:16&17. The Book of Acts & Ephesians will be good for you to study, I know it may seem like a lot but it will definately give you more insight. Don't be discouraged by comments of others seeking to bring confusion. Hope this helps, God Bless!

Muhammed did no longer stay for over a million,000 years later, and then died of poisoning. So do they espouse reincarnation additionally? The Holy Spirit nowhere is indicated to be a tension, yet somewhat has 70 purposes which instruct the Holy Spirit to all the flaws (with none help or intervention) that God does. A tension could be directed via something or somebody extra beneficial than it fairly is. The Holy Spirit is neither male nor lady merely as Jesus mentioned we'd be interior the recent heaven and new earth. because Muhammed did no longer have any of those 70 skills and did no longer yet exist....and would not exist for over a million,000 years, and because it fairly is a HOLY Spirit and Muhammed in no way claimed to be holy, nor became his existence lived in a manner that he deemed that way, then no longer something is in basic right here.

The line about needing the holy spirit to interpret the bible is a stock answer for questions theists do not like to answer. The parts of the bible that are silly, wrong or do not make sense, you need blah blah to understand. Its a catch all excuse.

If you are saved in Christ, it is the Holy Spirit who leads you into all truth (John 14:15-16)
Anyone can read the bible- even Satan knows the bible and can easily twist scripture for others who do not have Christ so that they will not believe in what it says....
The bible is our guide and God's Holy Word which we are to live by- It is how HE speaks to us through his Spirit- and opens our eyes to his wonderful truth- I am learning more each day through bible study and praying for the Holy Spirit to teach me- because I KNOW that Christ Jesus is the way and only way and I believe the bible to be infallable- for it says in 2 Timothy 3:16
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"

because part of salvaiton is loving truth and being changed by it and leaning on the promises of God which requires knowing what they are

the Holy Spirit working in the heart is the most important... BUT... everything that gets to the heart comes through the mind
in the end the facts, the scriptures, the data about the gospel go thorugh the mind to the heart...the heart may fight God's truth, or accept it by the Holy Spirits help and power

but God still workks through the mind to the heart... and works thorugh His word

"You have glorified your name together with Your word" Psalms

That is a good point and the answer is you would not need the bible. People who say you need the holy ghost in order to understand the bible are actually saying that you need to think and believe the way they do and go to their type of church or go to hell.

Jesus founded a church to guide people to the truth ... he didn't "found" a Bible.

People need other people to show them the way.

The Bible is not the only, or even the primary faith authority.

The true Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, is.

When Jesus left his disciples he told them he'd send a comforter. He also helps us pray when we don't know how properly. The Holy spirit helps us to understand the Bible, to absorb and bring to mind when needed.
