Every day i bite the inside of my mouth until it bleeds, then i drink the blood. Kind of a habit to me, I heard someone saying that the whole drinking my own blood part is a deficiency, what is this deficiency called?

If you do indeed have a deficiency, it's most likely to be an iron deficiency. It might be a good idea to have a blood test to rule this out or confirm it so you can begin iron therapy. If you are fine, then it's just a habit -- no more, no less -- and not a particulary good habit. Repeated injury to this tissue can have nasty results in the long run. I'd advise you to break the habit.

Iron deficiency is anemia. However, drinking your *own* blood will not help anemia. Only drinking some-one elses. Obviously, eatingn broccoli or kale (both h igh in Iron) is just as good.

You would not develop a habit of drinking your own blood naturally, because that would NOT make anemia feel any better.

It's most likely, then, that this is a nervous habit or that you're subconsciously trying to cause yourself pain so as to release endorphins and other "feel good" chemicals in your body.

I DON'T THINK IT'S CRAZY LIKE THE OTHERS but a little wrong because your only harming yourself in the process. I am not telling you what to do but I think your friends and family would like for you to harm yourself or to be harm by others. It seems that you are a lonely and sad person inside that need someone that understand you much better than the rest of them you have a round you I am not saying that I am that person but you should learn to live and live to learn.

I do know it is a disorder. Some has to do with nerves I am sure.

Please seek medical attention. This is an act of self mutilation and doctors will help you. Some cases patients only need a good counselor and some medicine.

You doctor will be you best advice.

anemia, low iron, Seems like people that compulsively gnaw on ice cubes are also a little anemic.

It is not a good practice since it could lead to infections.
