My mom said she later saw them constricted. We went to see a movie and he left abruptly to go to the restroom but was gone so quickly. His behavior is conflictory. Sometimes he is nice and friendly and at others he is angry, listless, and demanding. Does this suggest drug use? I was thinking cocaine. But I do not know.

Drug use is a possibility.
But again u are saying you observed this for the first time.Did you see him with dilated pupils in the movie theater.I am asking this because dim lighting causes pupils to dilate.

Pupils diolate off of drug use. Cocain, mbma(in ecstacy), and that is what I know. I am sure others do too. It probably was drugs.
Can I give you some advice on how to aproach this. I know you love him and he loves you. So don't go up to him accusing him of this (even though you know). Instaead have a sit down with him with just the two of you when his pupils are not diolated and just tell him how you feel. Not just as a fiancee, but a friend. Tell him how this is affecting you emotionally and how this could effect him in the long run. Tell him that you love him and that is why you are concerned. He should apreciate it and you should feel proud that you aproached him in a manner you did. Take care sweetie!

EDIT: Are you really going to steal his hair and get it drug tested? But yes, it can be done like this. But you have to have the root of the hair. And I really would not know the price of this compared to the old fashion pee test. But if you have insurance, pluck away.

Most definitely drug use. Not only the pupils but the behavior or mood swings. Confront him about this. If he is using drugs, dump him because nothing good will ever come from that kind of relationship.

I also wanted to add that even though it does sound like drug use, i am not on drugs and my pupils dilate huge. Does he have anxiety or panic...? When you hyperventalate, because of the anxiety, that can make your pupils dilate.

It's probably cocaine. Hopefully not meth. They sell hair drug tests at stores but if it comes out positive, I wouldn't tell him you found out that way. Try to get it out of him.

Don't jump to conclusions. If this is the first time you've seen them this big do a little investigation on your own. When hes in the bathroom check his draws. check his glove box. If it is in the name of love it is not snooping. Or just ask him.

I'll tell you what I know: hallucinogens dilate your pupils.
It's reasonable to guess that he's hitting the crack pipe as well.
