a problem came up in the Church and people came to John to solve the problem and he referred them to the Bishop of Rome?

No, I didn't know about this instance. But it is just another example of the Catholicism of the Early Church. Thank you for sharing it! I hope more and more Protestants hear about what the early Church looked like (namely, the Catholic Church).
