The Bible says God uses the weak and inferior things to confound the minds of the (earthly) wise.., or intellectual. So yes, as wise as man considers himself with all his way out there ideas, he is grasping at the wind and his efforts will prove as nothing when all is said and done.

Will the wise man save his physical life? Can he make himself live forever? Can he frame worlds with a balanced and complete eco-system.., and create life to live on them without disrupting that balance? The mind of the intellectual is essentially boasting on things (opinions) he or she really knows nothing about. The intellectual is a conceited vain person. End of story.

For all those questions today about religion vs. intellect and smart people being religious or not...you know, I'm not saying I agree or disagree with any of them, but when your own people start coming out and making statements like this, it's a pretty compelling argument.
