If i write a book and say in it that it is true does that make it true?"Why a god- coz god said so in the bible"! Is this such a difficult concept for christians to understand that they just keep going around in circles like a dog trying to catch his tail!

Because that's what they would understand. Makes sense to me.

Christians believe that the Bible is the unerring Word of God, so they quote from it as an answer from God.

The validity of Christianity will eventually be revealed. But here's food for thought

Christianity is the only religion in the world where God reaches down to man, the rest are men trying to reach God. Examples:
Judaism - in order to be holy, one must make sacrifice to God.
Islam - in order to go to heaven, one must pray 5 times daily, hadj to Medina, fast during Ramadan.
Buddhism - one must live the best life possible.

In Christianity, there is nothing required from the person - all is provided by and through God:

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast

You analyze the Holy Bible with the original manuscripts. That's if you are referring to what we have today compared to the original.

I must ask, what is wrong with loving the creator? What is so wrong with loving one another as we have been commanded to do? It's not like we've been told to go out and brow beat anyone into believing...or killing anyone for un-belief. So tell me, what's so wrong with believing the Bible and loving God?

It's all about free will and faith.

Tell ya what, why don't you read the Holy Bible for yourself instead of following a crowd that may just lead you off a cliff? Start with the New Testament and the book of John.

Then come back and re-ask your question.

The living God seeks a relationship with each one of us. He pursues me and I pursue Him. It's a relationship.

He's even seeking a relationship with you. Whether you believe it or not...the living God loves you and desires to be in relationship with you. His love is unconditional and you are very special to Him.

Check this book out...it proves the validity of Christianity using references outside the Bible: "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel.

There's no proof that the Bible is true, but I don't think there's anything wrong with someone who believes in the Bible as absolute truth. Just as long as they don't try to get me to believe it.

Because we believe in God and therefore we believe that He is capable in bringing a book thru the ages that is suitable in schooling us in His ways and showing us THE WAY. He can do that. So the Bible is authoritative.

Why do you ask someone to show you why they believe and then ridacule them for showing you? if i ask you to tell me why you believe in evalution to point out what you read in a science book or some paper someone wrote. If I ask you how to do algbra you show me something you read in a book or a teacher showed you in school, which they learned from a book. Stop wondering why we quote a book and start asking why we believe the quote.

You can not argue or persuade anyone who has taken an irrational course in their thinking. To stand alone on the bible as the absolute truth makes no sense at all. It can be proved that the book speaks against itself. That leaves no room for it to be correct.

Because Christians are the most intellectually inferior group in the world. They blindly follow religion because life is too frightening for them. It's pathetic.
Religion is a crutch for the weak.
The truly spiritual person finds God on his own terms.

How do you discern good from evil? Right from wrong? The Bible is God's word to us. Telling us how we should live in this chaotic world, how to have confidence and not fear anything. Where do you get your conscience?
