Well it's not the case that the RF converter is on the fritz if your screens showing subtitles. My guess is either
a: your AV decoders but not your text have turned up their toes, in which case new box or b your Scart lead has developed a split pin or pair or C your SCART socket on the telly has done the same. Check it by putting another SCART between the set and box and if the same thing happens then check the SCART socket on your telly by plugging your DVD into it. If you get sound and picture from your DVD then your box is at fault, if not it's your telly.

Hi when you say the subtitles show are these program subtitiles or just freeview box subtitiles ie the station name and channel number and whats on at the moment?

You might find you need a digital aerial installing for the box. They require a broad bandwidth to pick up all the channels having a good annalouge signal is no guarentee you will pick up digital on the same aerial although I would suspect that maybe the odd flash of picture or sound would occur.

I have actually had great results with a phillips indooe aerial with an amplififer built in (looks like a dish!) and I receive all my channels NP.
