Of course, that's why there are so many issues with religion ... it's ALL man made.

you are right, yes you are correct. those idiots just want to think that they will get a good thing going.....
I am sorry, but I had to try. I am not an uneducated idiot. I know a plastic umbrella won't stop a bullet. As there are many former drug addicts, prostitutes, poor and homeless people who believe, there are leaders of industry, nations.... great men in and of science.....people who are comfortable, in control of themselves and organized, that believe as well.
I can come back with an opposite to you.
Doesn't the human race reject a God and embrace science for power and comfort. It seems quite obvious, considering the needs of mankind, that in order to feel comfortable, in control and assured, they need to get rid of any higher power that will hold them responsible for their actions and lives.

no. organized religion definitely began with humans, but spiritual beliefs are pre-human. consider the neandertals. many neandertal burial sites show evidence of non-survival, repeated ritualistic behaviours, which is an archaeological behaviour indicating a belief system. their rituals were mostly associated with nature, often involving cave bear bones and images. they had burial rituals involving stone circles, and like modern humans do today they decorated the bodies (they used red pigment) and tossed things like flowers into the graves, as well as gifts such as tools and jewelry.
neandertals weren't human, some paleoanthropologists believe they may not have even been a direct ancestor of humans, but it seems like spirituality started with them, not with humans.

I am with you there, but sadly, humans can't handle religion well enough to not end up in a nuclear holocaust, shame, isn't it?

religion was created to scare the hell out of people so they would walk the straight and narrow like sheep...fear forcing them to obey commandments or suffer eternal damnation...
