I eat pancakes with a small amount of syrup. Otherwise it covers up the taste of the pancakes, especially blueberry. YUM! If you like sweet but don't want a lot of syrup sprinkle confectioners sugar over the pancakes. You'll be amazed at the difference and it actually inhances the flavor of the pancakes.
