Generally, weekly. Unless they get soiled in between washings...
I wash them because I love the feeling and the smell of crisp, clean 400TC sheets. Besides, they get dirty with body oils, dust mites, cat hair, etc. no matter how clean you are.
The article referenced below will make you feel icky, but it describes what lives in your bed! (Ycck!!!!)

i try to wash mine one time a week. but usually i forget so it's like a week and a half. i wash my blankets every 2 weeks. i wash them because it's gross not to...

i wash mine at least once a week as you tend to shed ya skin also dust mites etc
