It seems to me, the better way would be to draw straws or pick his name out of a hat. That way God would control the outcome instead of different cardinals politicing for the pope they want. If God picks the pope, why not let God pick the pope?

GOD DID NOT CHOSE THE POPE TO LEAD THE CHURCH.

CAUSE THE POPE IS THE LEADER OF A CULT THAT GOES AGAINST SCRIPTURE

Hi - I always thought that all the cardinals should get together in a room and wait for the big hat to appear on somebodies head.

That would impress me.

They need ballots to burn when they pick him.

God did pick the pope. It gives them something to do.

Why don't you get elected pope and then set it up any way you like.

Stop it! Stop using common sense! On top of all that, we should change the Bible so that it says that the Children of Israel elected their leader instead of God.

thats a good question. and if they say G-d is influencing the votes, then they have another problem, because that would mean people don't have free will.
