I wouldn't trust anyone who would put beings on the earth for the apparently sole reason of having billions of beings worship him.

Well, this is a funny question.
God is not a human being or a force of the nature or an understandable being to be analysed in terms of trustfulness. Jesus, His son, came to give human beings a vision of God, an understanding of God, because our minds are too small compared to this infinite being. Jesus is trustworthy, so...
The only thing that we know completely about Him is that HE is LOVE. True love. And one of the characteristics of love is that it is trustworthy. Read the marvellous chapter of 1st. Corinthians 13:1 to 23.
That is what the Bible says.
In my experience (and I have a lot, believe me!) He is completely trustworthy. Always! I love Him!

Yes, GOD is very trustworthy. The secret is that you have to be trustworthy as well. If you aren't into trusting God, you will miss the awesome answers that he sends us every day. You just have to be able to trust in what He tells you and be open enough to know when He has answered. This kind of trust means you have to also believe in the answer when He supplies it!

The ideology of god is not trustworthy. I do not believe in god. However, the humans that made god(s) in their image gave him/them human characteristics. Greek gods were notorious for deception, murder and adultery. Apparently the christian god is too as he stated that King David was a man after his own heart...well David was an adulterous, murdering peeping tom. Throughout the bible we can see that god is moody as well. He shifts like sand from being loving and merciful to unbelievable rage against mortals. He took Pharoah's free will away and hardened his heart how many times? Just so he could show his glory? That is human vengefulness and spite. It makes no sense to subscribe to a vision that is so convoluted an circular.

God is so trustworthy.

But the world is full of killing and sin and evil because Satan (and us) make it that way.

We are not God's puppets. He gave us free will and our destiny is what we make it to be. We have all been given chances to come to God, but most of us havent turned to Him. He loves us so much that He wants us to worship Him so when we die we can leave this horrible, materialistic world and be with Him forever. Heaven is not all about harps and sitting on clouds and stuff like that. Since we are different beings in Heaven, we have different desires, wishes, and thoughts. In Heaven we dont strive to play video games or watch movies. In Heaven we dont need it.

Like I said. Your destiny is what you make of it.

God Bless!

If God exists, I think he is. However, he is nothing like the God as portrayed as Christians. He seems pretty evil to me -- after all, would a good God send good people to hell just because they aren't believers?

Accepting the implied hypothetical that God exists ---

No. The God described in the Bible is an immoral monster by his own standards, rendered powerless by iron, and demanding not only blood sacrifice but HUMAN blood sacrifice, despite his omnipotence.

Continuing the implied hypothetical, in abscentia, I can do no less than judge God guilty of crimes against all of existence and against himself.

Totally, You will only get from GOD what you believe in Him for.
See He is not amused by an atheist's childish questions, or anger. He is moved by faith, though, scripture says if you believe. Then you can have whatever you ask, and that GOD is capable and willing to supply all our needs by His riches and Glory.
