why does my cat prune my hair?

I have 2 cats about 3 years old one is Ickle as she is ickle one is called capol (sorry 4 year old named them!!) Ickle will start pulling at my hair whilst i am watching telly!!! Its as though she is cleaning me now come on i have clean hair!!! Why does she do this?? I have never seen a cat do it before?

Your cat must be a spayed female. I was told by a Vet that since my cat never had any kittens; her maternal instincts were kicking in and she was grooming me like I was her baby.

some cats are attracted to the smell of clean hair others are just playing or being friendly. as long as the cat doesnt suddenly lash out or get too excited it isnt a problem if you can put up with it.

My cat does that, only when I'm sleeping and she's trying to make me get up and feed her. She purrs , paddles and licks my hair. I like to think it's love but it's coz she knows it wakes me up.

She never gets fed as a result of her antics though, I just throw her off it it's bugging me.

My cat also does that and is the first of my cats to ever do it.
I think he is showing you how much he loves you by grooming you so you don't have to. The worrying thing is if he is expecting the same in return :)

my kitty kneads my hair which sometimes feels like pulling to me and once in a while she nibbles at my ear lobe think she thinks you are her mommy cat and the hair feels like mommys fur
i noticed my kitten does it when shes hungry

This reminds her of her mom who may of had long hair. She just loves you to death. Wow! someone to brush your hair for you.
