Right now, I am trying to lose weight for my wedding in 2008. I know I have pleny of time, but the sooner the better! I don't have any problem with the eating right, that parts easy for me. The hard part for me is exercising. I can't afford any home equipment for myself, and I have a terrible fear of people looking and staring at me. So it's hard for me to walk anywhere or go to a gym without having a serious panic attack. Does anyone have any advice on how I can lose weight without having to be stared at? Thanks!

I have been there, done that. What I suggest is that you first watch what you eat eveeryday very carefully and exercise at home, like for 1,5 hours per day. You don't need to buy any expensive special equipments, because it's sort of an excuse for you not to exercise (that what happened to me..) You can do easy and cheap exercise like sit up-once you wake up and are about to sleep, do it on your carpet for 100 times -each!!(that really works to eliminate the big tummy) and you can buy 2 barbles for your arms. Do also some scottjump, push up (not too many, maybe 20 times each) and some swimming-like on your carpet.. just follow some examples from the magazines will also help. But you have to do it regularly... seriously it works.. once you lost some weight, and feel more comfortable and confident with yourself, you can register for a gym.Good luck!

Girl-- Don't pay em any mind. You have to start somewhere! Just think- in a few months you'll be walking and their jaws will drop because you have made alot of progress!! Then you'll love the staring (just kidding). I say go for it- at least you're doing something. Alot of people complain about having to excercise and eat right to lose weight- as if somehow they are disappointed that those are the only ways- no magic pill to melt it off over night!!

Good news!
Exercise in itself does not help you to lose weight.
Eating less is the key to that.
You need only enough exercise to make you feel good in your body.
If you really can't go out (and you have my sympathy if that is the case) try simple things like walking up and down stairs, walking or running on the spot. Try putting on some music you like, and just let your body move comfortably to it.
Get a book on Yoga, and try some stretches, but be sure to make it pleasureable. Don't try to copy the goddess in the book!
Remember, no pain. You are learning to love your body, so make that a commitment to pleasure.

By the way. Don't lose weight for your wedding. Do this for you!

just do simple mat work. like sit ups, crunches, step ups....you know and you can use anything.......look around chances are your whole house is full of stuff you can turn into a home gym.
if that doesn't work get a friend to go to the gym with you and get a personal trainer for the both of you. most of the time people are too busy with themselves at the gym to worry about looking at other people

The harder you work out the less they will stare at you. You are just shy and think people are staring. Anyway the only one that matters is your husband to be and that is all that counts. Good luck with your marriage

If you go to the gym be assured that people are focusing on themselves, not you, there all there for the same reasons.
