I recently bought a new pen that I can tell has ink in it, but it isn't coming out when I write....it's driving me crazy.....any helpful hints?

Is it a ball-point pen? Usually, just writing will make the ink flow, but you could try shaking it down like you would shake down a thermometer (gently, if the ink is liquid instead of gel). Another trick my mother taught me is heat...heat makes the ink flow better so putting the pen near (but not TOO near, you don't want to melt it) a heat source will sometimes work; try running it under hot water.
