Sorry, agnostics too! And I'm not just talking about the movie, but the heated debate that happens a further in.

The thing that really stood out to me was the idea that if you're not Christian, you are just confused, that there is still something for you to discover. That really is quite condescending.

However, I will err on the side of being condescending and say it is the Christians who still have so much to discover.

You could really see the general Christian justification embedded in her reasoning, which scares me.

It is very disturbing to me that many will not see the (not so) subtle use of camp time to instill(brainwashing) Christian values as a bad thing. But it is no different than other camps where children the world over are taught the tenets of their religion. So Christians brainwash their children with the myth of jesus while the Muslims brainwash their children in the name of allah , and on down the line. As atheists we teach our children to thoroughly investigate anything that needs brainwashing before trying it.We teach them to make decisions based on their own feelings not on some ancient tome .

So much evil... Jesus camp is no different than the "become a fighter for Islam" camps set up in Middle East countries. The woman is a poor example of a human being, as are the parents who send their children there.

The Maher show clip was refreshing.
I also watched the short trailer for Jesus Camp. F*cking hell, if 25% of Americans are evangelicals and they are winding their kids up like this to give up their lives for Jesus, they have access to millions of guns (cos you're also nutters in that respect) and you are more scary than the terrorists. Wake up and put a stop to this garbage.

Well I enjoyed that clip, There was many good points in it. Is there anything that a religious person won't inflict on children?

Most religion asks you not to use reason and just believe therefor unreasonable behavior is the net result of religion

I think that woman who runs that camp is obviously a psycho and she is revving those kids up to do some horrible fanatical evil in the name of religion.
Religion is not evil or violent or horrible. Religion is an attempt to reach whatever higher power a person believes in. After that, people insert their own crap.

Youtube is not famous for viruses.

I have seen the Jesus Camp vids and they scare the hell out of me. Those poor brainwashed kids.

Could you not have just addressed this to "People" or were you trying to exclude agnostics?

Man needs no debate, he needs learning. Both sides are wrong in any debate.
Since we are not all-knowing, we need to consult or to learn new things from other people; so consultation is excellent. But we need no debate: in debate, usually each side tries to prove that he is right, and nobody can be right, if he is not all-knowing.

to bad the clip is so short. in the next few minutes the Church Lady explains why it is important to have kids willing to become suicide bombers. The round table people are just talking heads if you have not seen more of the film.

i'm pagan, and i find this disturbing and quite frankly terrifying. there are fundamentalists in any religion and they are the rabid ones that make the rest look bad.

this camp is another Waco, to my mind.
