I would not keep them but throw them away. Kidney beans are very toxic unless they are cooked or heated to high temperature.

PS Just had thought perhaps your kidney beans are dried. If that is the case they will keep for months but not if you keep them in a can. Put them in a jar with a screw tight lid. Okay!

There is no problem with leaving them in the can. Sitting on the counter, use them the same day. In the refrigerator, they should be good for at least a week. Responses about ill effects of leaving the product in the can are obviously old wives' tales -- after all, the product was in the can on the grocer's shelf for who knows how long.

Im hoping they are not still in the can. If you put that in the fridge, that's a major disaster. BACTERIA!!!

Just seal them into another container and they should last you a few days.

Don't store them in the can. Put 'em in tupperware and the fridge. Two days, max. Figure out something to do with them by tomorrow. Toss 'em in chili!

In a sealed Tupperware container, but not for long, as it will most likely grow mold.

Agree with Chefgrill - you can also use them in salads, good fiber source. Don't try to save that little bit of money, food poisoning isn't worth it!

Pour them into a Ziploc freezer bag, seal it up and stuff them in the freezer.
