All I can manage is a scraggly little goatee, would they let me be a Muslim with that, or would Allah be offended by my lack of facial hairiness?

I'm not sure, but I don't think its a sin to shave, but it is sunnah. (That means it is following the example of the prophet (pbuh).) It is also sunnah to keep it neatly trimmed, so no bushy beard please.

Depends on the sect. Most muslims are not required to grow beards.

no u dont have to however alot of muslim men like to grow beards as it was what the prophet (saw) had done, and they want to follow his example in all manners, but no its not compulsory in islam for men to grow beards.

Facial hair is not a must for Muslim men...some just choose to grow beards.
Islam isnt about length of hair, its about faith & if you have the faith nobody can stop you following it

well man I would love have a big beard but my girlfriend hates them but I don't want to be a Muslim.

Keeping beard is recommended for adult Muslim males, not obligatory.

a beard is highly recommended and appreciated by the Prophet Muhammad PBUH but is not one of the requirements of being a Muslim, peace

You only have to believe in the one prophet, alternatively cut some pubes off and stick them to your face that might do the job.

I know several Muslim men, and all of them are clean shaven. I think you're fine.

It is not a something that will keep you outside Islam if you shave it.
But it is highly recommended to have abeared in Islam.
