My mother and sister own a hairdressers and barbaers and their customers usually tip. It's one of the few perks. Long hours standing on your feet having to listen to the same old chat day inn, day out. The girls tend to all spend their tips on a well deserved drink at the end of the week. For the junior staff it can boost their wages from £80 to £130 per week over busy periods, they don't earn much unless they're top or senior stylists/barbers. But then, if you ask me I will be bias!!!

People who actually TOUCH you like this,( perform a personal service) deserve a small tip. I usually sling the barber a quid . Unless he is grumpy, then he gets nowt.

As a general rule, if you are in employment you should tip the barber.

I have on occasion had my hair cut by young ladies, this is much more fun when those udders, those pendulous fun bags, brush against your shoulders. I usually tip them two quid.

you need to tip, fairly because of fact the haircut basically costed $12, what a great deal! Hair stylists greater often than no longer do no longer make various money and assume information like waiters do. Tipping is a courtous and predicted ingredient to do in the journey that your happy with the provider.

Depends ,if you are happy with the service a quid is enough, if you are not happy give nothing and go someplace elsa next time. Tipping your barber is not compulsory.

The amount they charge for a cut you have to be kidding, right?

Last cut I had took them all of five minutes to do, no talk, not even asking if I wanted a coffee even though she had one?!?, then didnt cut my hair properly and asked a tenner for it.
Take the wizz or what?
Since then I got meself a pair of clippers for a £20 and theyve paid for themselves.
