Well, you heard of terrible two's I'm sure...but it doesn't stop there, Mom! Unfortunately, three year olds act like this a LOT--especially for thier Moms. I would say that your best bet is to ignore the bad behavior and praise the good behavior. Now, I know sometimes you can't ignore her behavior if she is out of control. In that case, just put her in her room and set a timer. Tell her (repeatidly, if need be) that you will talk to her once she can be nice.

Check out www.loveandlogic.com for some help. Check with your local library for books, videos, etc by Jim Fay. Love and Logic Magic for Kids 0-6 is a great book/CD. You will get practical advice and examples of putting words into action. Start now before she practices this behavior much longer.

I have a 3 year old also. I have recently completely changed my disciplinary choices. If you haven't heard about Love and Logic let me Introduce you. Before I do It is not easy, You're a parent it wont be easy for the rest of your life, but I have really seen changes in my children even as young as they are(10,4,3,1).
In a nutshell," you are going to bed. How do you want to go?" and you give her a choice. IE. jump like a kangaroo slither like a snake. How does a monkey put on their pajamas? Not only will this put more focus on her and what she is doing, but it is fun too!!

Spank her butt. It's as simple as that. Time-outs teach defiance, taking away toys doesn't work at this age because she will just find another toy, and telling her "no" doesn't have any consequences.
Give her a warning and if she doesn't listen then walk over and spank her butt. "Spare the rod, spoil the child"

try time outs they really work if you have consistency every time she does someting wron you put her in time out one minute per year of lif of the child per crime in this case 3 minutes and if she does 2 thing wronhg then is 6 minutes but no more of the 3 minutes per crime ok and be sure to told her what she did wrong in simple word is that dont work try reading the everything book for toddlers its really good but remember be consistence

Look at it from her point of view...you brought in another baby to take care of! It's like your husband bringing in another wife! Spend some extra alone time with her, make sure she understands this is her "special" time with mommy.

A good leather belt to the *** should straighten the little bugger out.
