YES you can get pregnant if you have sex at anytime during your period, it's less likely but can still happen. She shouldn't be having unprotected sex at all if she doesn't want a baby, she'll have to play a waiting game now to see if her next period comes, or she could get the morning after pill although that is for genuine emergencies not for careless people to use as contraception!!

i refer to this site whenever i have a question about health issues, its very helpful.
Q. Can I get pregnant if I have sex during my period?
A. YES, Yes, Yes! A lot of people think that if a woman has sex during her period, she can't get pregnant. Even though this is a common belief, you CAN get pregnant while you are bleeding. Sometimes ovulation can occur before the bleeding from your period has stopped, or it may occur within a few days after your period is over. In both cases, having sex before your period is finished can result in pregnancy. Having unprotected sex at any time, including when you're menstruating, is very risky. Along with the risk of becoming pregnant, there is also a risk of getting an STD.

Oh honey the truth is you can get pregnant any time any where. Don't ever believe those old wives tales unless it is from a credible docter. Question it even then. I promise it is the truth. From a mother of two. (First at 16 yrs. old) lol. Just be careful and get a preg test down once every other week for the next 3 to 4. Even if you have your period. My period came with both mine for first month of pregnancies. Think positive everything happens for a reason.

Although that is the "cleansing time" for the uterus, you can still get pregnant. If the egg is still hanging around.
Rhythm is a tricky birth control method, I have 2 kids named rhythm. LOL, actually they are named Sarah and Micheal.
If any time is a "better" time, it is the week following the end of your period, but then again, God does have a sense of humor.
I really think the best time for you to have sex is AFTER you marry your boyfriend.
Just think, when you do finally get married, you won't have anything really special to share with your husband.
Best wishes.

Yes. Period. haha Seriously, you can still get pregnant as long as the egg is still embedded in your uterus. Probably the safest time to have sex would be just as your flow begins to subside to a light brown spotting.
Google "the rthym method". It's most likely the manner of birth control your parents first used. Lots of newlyweds use that method. It's not 100% safe and it still leaves you vulnerable to pregnancy. The only safe sex is NO sex.

No you cannot get pregnant if you had sexual intercourse during your period but if your period is suppose to finish the day after you had sex there is a possibility that you can get pregnant because the average male sperm can live for two days inside a female.

OMG!! The people who say you can't are idiots! Yes you can still get pregnant. The egg is fertilized in the fallopian tubes not the uterus, and stays there for about a month before implanting in the uterus. Only a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. So if your really worried about this get the morning after pill before it's too late.

its possible you could get pregnant. the chance of that happening is pretty slim. you ovulate 10-14 days after the start of your period. so if you started on Oct 1st then you would ovulate anywhere from Oct 10-14th. (statistically) but you can get pregnant anytime. when ever your body produces another egg and sends it out to be fertilized. not every ones body goes by statistics. that's why its important to be safe all the time ... not just hit or miss.

there is always the possiblity but it would be really rare for you to get pregnant. the fact that you have your period means that the egg is passing through you adn you get pregnant when the sperm can get to an egg that hasnt passed yet. if anythign by now the sperm has been flushed out b/c you have your period, therefore there is no way that you could get pregnant...
you should always be safe though, consider it next time... casue you might not get pregnant but you could always get std's etc.

You can get pregnant anytime....although you are most fertile during a certain period... sperm doesn't die in hours it can remain one hell of a swimmer for quite some time..... until e hits the target or dies trying.... The only sure guarantee is abstinance... short of that always be protected....
