Yes, they throw your balance right out which is not good for the back. Also, in later life you might get problems through wearing them. (Ask my mum re: her hip operation)

Honestly, I don't know. BUT! I do know that walking in high heels isn't the way our feet are naturally supposed to walk all day long.

At the end of a day of wearing heels, it's always very good practice to walk around BARE FEET at home as our feet get massaged that way by walking on a solid floor, putting the pressure where they are supposed to be.

I've seen some rancid feet in the past, all womens'.... and because they wore high heels, all the time, they seriously disfigured their toes and feet.

As for back ache... try the website I've linked below.

As a male I have generally found that high heels only give you ear ache. When having to walk all of 50 yards in shoes SHE chose to wear, somehow it becomes YOUR FAULT??

yes..they create an unnatural tilt of the pelvis and shortening of the calf muscles this makes you wobble a bit when you walk..which is sexy but puts tension into the back muscles. Some people just can't wear them some can wear them in their 90s

yes they can.they alter the posture of your back.depending on the hieght of the shoe, depends on severity of back ache.
i know some friends who've never worn any thing else, and they are suffering for it now.
i think high heels are o.k for a night out/social occassions, but not for everyday wear.

yes they can.but only over a certain height. if over 3inch's the heel tilts your pelvic floor. the knack is over 3 inch's when walking do a pelvic tilt when walking. and not to wear every day. change height of heels on regular basis as to keep your leg muscles supple.

Absolutely...high heels change your center of gravity and how you balance your body...back problems and leg/foot pain are common issues from high heel wearing...

We women tend to torture ourselves at times, in the name of vanity...lol!
