nope that is a separate charge, you are stuck with it, and I think if you are drinking and driving they most likely will not let the running the red light go, you could have killed someone and maybe your self, you should be thankful you are alive and not facing manslaughter charges and deal with the punishment that will be given to you.

no and if they do drop the running the red light which they probably won't they will nail you hard for the drunk driving, however if you prove that you really didn't run the red light and they had to proof to pull you over(you have to prove that they had no proof) then you can have both cases dismissed, however this will be very hard to do considering you were drinking so all they have to do is say that you were swerving.

if the police had probable cause to pull you over for the red light, the fact that the red light ticket gets dismissed doesn't get rid of the DWI charge.

Nope that DWI will stick. The police has probable cause to pull you over since you disobeyed the law, the drunk driving was just a bonus for them.

Nope. And if running the red light caused an accident, then you aren't going to get that dismissed either.

nice try, but no - they are more apt to charge you with the more serious drunk driving - that's probably why you ran the red light! Hope you've learned something from this

It's not the police that drop charges but the prosecutor and yes he can do as he pleases.
