No I think it's silly. Not to mention the architect and electrician who created my house didn't follow the principles either. Which would make it very difficult to follow some grand design; it's all I can do to get things arranged so they are near an outlet but not blocking a door, window or heating vent.
Oy!

No, as a Catholic, the belief in Feng Shui is deemed sinful, and I choose not to follow something that is in discord with the faith I was raised in. Secondly, Feng Shui has yielded no evidence attesting to its efficacy. If Feng Shui truly had merit than those who practice it should have demonstrably better lives in every aspect than those who pay no mind to it. Yet, I have observed that people who actually abide by this superstition are no more wealthy, healthy, or have better family lives than people who live their lives completely ignorant of this spiritual practice.
In the Indian culture, the culture I come from, we have a similar practice that is followed by many devout Hindus. I have many Hindu friends that purchase their house based on how elements are aligned in the house, and also on how the home is oriented in relation to celestial bodies, especially the sun. These people are in no better position than I am, and life has not been any more kind to them than it has to me.
One can make the argument that the same accusation of superstition can be levied at mainstream religion, even at my own Roman Catholicism. Granted this assertion makes a valid contention that is worth arguing, but since this is about Feng Shui I won’t go off on a tangent. All I can say is even if mainstream religions can be demonstrated to be false, at least they engender the moral betterment of their followers. Feng Shui ultimately does not dictate behavior, and hence cannot be deemed a legitimate theological construct.

Any kind of pet represents the fire element. Give the tortoise a tank of water with rocks or sand. The rocks or sand are the element of earth which balances out the fire element of the pet. In feng shui, fire makes earth. Get a glass tank that is fused together with metal or with a metal lid that covers part of the tank. This will take care of "earth makes metal" and "metal holds water." Get a little oxygenated sea plant or something like it to keep in the tank with the turtle. A plant that won't grow too much or over power the turtle's domain. All of these should be a perfect feng shui harmony. "Fire makes earth, earth make metal, metal holds water, water grows wood, 'the plant,' and wood make fire." The best thing about it is that you can put the tank anywhere because is has all of the feng shui elements.

I have not done it to this house because I don't believe in it. However, I just sold my last home two years ago and I read a little about it and did some things to help sell. I live in an area that is heavily Asian populated and the good Feng Shui is the reason my home was sold. Having done that, I will do what is needed to this home if and when I decide to sell it.

No, I haven't yet, but I'm trying...
In fact, I'm moving soon and I hope I'll have money to do everything perfect...
Feng Shui is pretty logical, huh???
I mean, it's good to keep your toilet seat closed, right???
:-)
