It's partly genetic, but there's some mystery involved. Hair changes. My brother and I both started out with very straight hair and ended up with wavy hair. And that was well after I'd given up eating my crusts!

the answer to your question is very simple plain strait forward strait hair is round ..And curly hair is flat or half moon.Fair haired people have more hair per square inch than dark haired people. I learn this at school years ago. I think I am correct tell me if I am wrong. But I don't think so. PS the average hair shred a day is 250 hairs per day That's Aired this topic. .

All people with naturally straight hair have at least some naturally curly hair......if you know what i mean.

It usually has to do with genes. Some people have parents with curly or straight hair and then their kids inherit it!

Its to do with the hair follicles if there round you get straight hair if there out of shape you get curly hair

Genetics, its all about what is in your family. I wish i had curly hair but all i get is stick straight hair. boring!!!

Its the size of the opening of your hair folicle. If your hair follicle is round then you will have straight hair, if it is oblong you will have wavy hair and if it is a straight opening it will be curly.

Genetics. Which do you have? Which do you like? Curly has more body. Is easier to style. Curly and/or coarse.

Ultimately genes determine the shape of the hair folicle which in turn determines your hair type.
