Make the meatloaf but use 1 tsp dry or bottled mustard - it will add the zing onion does. There is also a spice asafoetida powder an Indian spice that has a strong, pungent flavor and is used as an onion substitute by people who can't eat them for whatever reason. Garlic or shallots will do the trick too. Good luck!

Well when I am out of onions I make it without them adding some other seasoning of your liking. I make mashed potatoes and when the meatloaf if done I spread it on the meatloaf piling it up on top and all around. I them put it in the oven for 10 to 15 Min's. I have also used Lipton onion soup mix to make my meatloaf(the onions are freeze dried not powdered).

I recommend a good old fashioned hamburger. It's simple...and just requires ground beef. Easy.

Make homemade hamburger helper -- brown ground beef, add 1 -- 2 pound block of velveeta cheese and stir till melted, add that mixture to one package of cooked pasta (I like small shells) -- really good and really easy, and no onion required.

I have been there several times and just went ahead and made the meal and it turned out just as good. I just used fresh garlic and no one noticed that there weren't any onions in the recipe. So don't let your lack of onions stop you from making your wonderful meatloaf dinner. Good luck!!

It's hard to believe you cannot find a few minutes to go to the store or to borrow from a neighbor.
Otherwise, a couple of [easy] suggestions: cheeseburgers with bacon, and/or baked patties in a curry cream sauce. Of course lots of people enjoy just plain hamburger steaks, without or with condiments. If you lack A-1 or HP steak sauces or a chutney you can mix together some tomato ketchup with black pepper and worcestershire to taste.

Make meatballs with egg,, breadcrumbs, and herbs (add a touch of nutmeg!).
Bake in the oven with seasoned tomato sauce, cooked pasta, and grated parmesan.
Enjoy, and you'll never miss the onions.
