Jesus' resurrection is the hinge of Christianity. He laid down His life for you and me - became sin and was nailed to a cross, died, rose on the third day according to the Scriptures and ascended back to the Father in Heaven where He sits on the right hand of the Father. We have a hope of Eternal Life with Jesus when we accept this gift - the gift of salvation. Believing that Jesus was/is who He says He is/was. The Bible says "For God so loved the world that He gave his One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish (eternal separation from God) but have Eternal Life (Heaven). Blessings to you.

That is a question that can be answered with an entire volume of words encompassing pages and pages, or it can be answered in a brief paragraph. Given the forum, I will opt for the latter category.

Jesus is important to Christians primarily because he gives the faithful a tangible reason to believe that God exists, and also justifies our belief that God is intimately concerned with the endeavors of mankind; enough so to endure suffering and subject himself to death for our spiritual well being. It’s this personal and self-sacrificial interest in his creatures that makes Jesus more relatable and attractive to so many people in comparison to other religious figures. His life on earth, and his promises, infuses life, and the suffering that attends it, with meaning and purpose that it would otherwise be bereft of.

In a nutshell Jesus is the ultimately embodiment of hope and love that no other religious paradigm has been able to rival.

Without Jesus we would still be under the 'laws' of Moses. The laws were given to the Jews as a way of keeping them separate from the other nations, but obeying the laws wasn't enough to get them close to god, hence all the sacrificing of animals, it was through the shedding of blood (as the life force of the body) that sins were atoned for.
Jesus came to fulfill the law, by the shedding of his own blood and it could only be his blood because he is the only person in history who didn't ever sin. It's our sin that keeps us separated from God, but when we repent in the name of Jesus, he acts like a bridge between man and god, and through him we can have a relationship with god, as we were made for. I can testify that I didn't feel complete until I met Jesus and entered into that relationship, then it was like having a new life, or being re born, amazing!
Of course, his death wasn't the end of him, he rose to life again, so we have a saviour who beat death, which gives us the promise of beating death and gaining eternal life in heaven with Jesus.

In the bible, you can read the book of John in the new testament. John 1 explains how and why Jesus came. Also in Acts 4:12 speaking about Jesus, it says: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Without Jesus there is no Christianity. We sin against God, which creates the inability to maintain relationship with Him & results in destruction. Through Jesus' life, teaching and atoning death/resurrection, we are forgiven in the eyes of God and allowed to maintain or relationship as God nurtures us and teaches us how to mature spiritually. Without Jesus we would be unable to maintain the relationship and unable to grow spiritually. That’s it in a nutshell, although the truth is much deeper than that.

Well, apart from the word Christian being derived from the word Christ (Jesus Christ, see the connection?) To a Christian, Jesus is the Lord and Savior. The perfect Son of God sent to redeem us from our sins with a perfect sacrifice and atonement. And, Christians believe, that after his crucifixion, he rose from the dead making a resurrection possible.
