that was funny, good one. Aren't we constantly evolving?

well, I can never tell if you are messing with us poor yahoo'ers or not, or just revelling in your own wit, which is kind of distasteful on the lesser side of the "annoyance" scale. I really haven't seen a lot of "evolution" questions lately, so I think the fanatics have been scared off by the thought that God actually allowed Darwin to classify the species, since I threw that "well, God told Adam to name everything" at them. I don't really want to take all the credit, but I'm just checking to make sure you weren't one of those dunces that didn't get the message the first time.
I hope that by this comment, you've deduced that I don't know you, nor am I interested in your reputation.
I'm not sure what intelligence has to do with Yahoo answers on the evolutionary scale, that question's f-ed up. How can you possibly think that someone here is a potential mate just by what the hell they are typing? This premise assumes that whoever is using the said account is the said person. I mean really, use your intelligence here. Do you know how many "Ask Don's" there are?
Are we as a species going to become more smart? If Answers is any indication, well, no. If the state of world affairs is any indication, double no.
And yes, smartness is attractive to me. A guy with 90 average or more is on my hit list. My TV hero isn't muscley, but sure of his facts and clever to boot. (Like that Grissom guy on CSI) He's smart because he ACTS smart. (the long and the short of it)
Not attracted to you in the least. I can't see you, your icon is ugly, and I find your attitude somewhat snarky rather than smart.
If you breed, well done, is my comment. I'm amazed at my own success in that department, and I'm the epitome of averageness.
Sense of humour is irrevocably entwined with smarts. Infact, "wit" is a word that describes both.
Why do you ask? Are you lonely?

I was attracted to the question because of "evolution" in the question. All people are attracted to intelligence. I don't mean a brain surgeon, but someone with common sense. Every generation will definitely possess more intelligence at an earlier age.
Personally, a sense of humor is just as important as smarts.

LOL. Yes, the sense of humor is very important as an attractive trait also. Not just smarts, but how they're used with style and humor that is a mark of someone worth a closer look.

I clicked on the question because it was there. I enjoy sharing what I have learned with other people and hope that it helps them.
There is only one flaw that I can see with you Yahoo-Darwin (if you don't mind the name ) theory. In evolution, creatures are forced to change to survive. The strong one pushing the critters higher up the food chain while the weaker ones die off.
On Yahoo, there is no ' need '. If you don't like it here, you just go to a different forum. I hope this helps.

I opened the question because you are my friend.
I think in humans intelligence is a 'main' appeal but not the only one. If it just exists on it's own in a person devoid of personality and a sense of humor and physical appearance that is attractive to the particular person (note not everyone since not everyone finds the same thing appealing) then intelligence on it's own would not cut it. It's the overall but intelligence is usually the crux.

You'll find that only intelligent people seek out intelligent partners.
Likewise idiots will seek out fellow idiots (as opposed to someone who will just baffle them and then leave them because of their stupidity).
Slowly but surely, a greater diversity in intelligence amongst the human race is manifesting, but there is still interbreeding in the middle.... That is to say there are some people who aren't hugely intelligent but aren't particularly stupid either, and likewise they will tend to find people more like themselves, within a certain margin of error... possibly smarter and possibly less so. Until some form of dividing barrier forms distinctly between the stupid and the intelligent, no speciation will occur and... well.... we're left to the ravages of random genetic drift.
Let us not forget:
The intelligent among us need the stupid people to clean the roads and take the garbage away... at least until we make robots that can do it for us... Maybe then we will eventually evolve not to need stupidity.

There is something about black and white icons that are really lame so I wanted to see what someone who still uses monochrome icons was saying.
"The idea of God, with all conception of Him, having been thus rent asunder, it is my purpose to treat, in their order, of God the Creator, of the Lord the Redeemer, and of the Holy Spirit the Operator, and lastly of the Divine trinity, to the end that what has been rent asunder may be again made whole; which is done when the reason of man is convinced by the Word and by light therefrom that there is a Divine trinity, and that the trinity is in the Lord God the Savior Jesus Christ, like the soul, the body, and what goes forth from these, in man; and that thus this article in the Athanasian Creed is true:"
"In Christ God and man, or the Divine and the Human, are not two, but are in one person; and as the rational soul and the flesh are one man, so God and man are one Christ." -- True Christian Religion n.4[3]:

Yes, sense of humor is important too.

I am attracted to intelligence above all other traits, however, it seems like many intelligent people have very few children, whereas all the semi-retarded people who can't afford children breed like rabbits. Perhaps we are becoming less intelligent as a species because of this trend.
