I dont have anyhting specific junkee, i think the reason i feel it looks that way is mainly the silver and black colour scheme that they seem to use all the time now. Also some of the styling, like putting rounded edges on things, seems to me to belong more to that era

Yes it might do.. Retro styling is something that designers ar looking at so that older generations feel less out of touch when purchasing modren equipment.

if you really wanted to delve back in history, you'd probably find that the equipment you mean looks like it was copied from 70's styling that was copied from 50's styling etc etc...

fact is, it's not the out side appearance that matters it's whats at the heart of the gizmo. the internal workings.
e.g. it may look like a 30 year old radio, but it could be full of state of the art tecks inside. not valves or transistors, but chips and i.t's etc. in other words, don't judge the book by it's cover, as my wife always says; test and try before you buy.

Do you have something specific in mind... cuz i really can't think of any modern equipment that looks 70's, unless it was specifically styled that way
