As in, do they start measuring the days from the first date or when they become boyfriend/girlfriend?
(you go on dates before you become officall bf/gf)

Today is the 18th year from the day my husband and I got married. :) It's also his birthday - we got married on his birthday at his request and insistance. We celebrate the yearly date of the day we were married. We married with 3 children involved so we began celebrating monthly, because we knew our marriage was not going to be easy! :) We also figured it is better to celebrate and acknowlege good things in life instead of letting the day to day mundane stuff take over and strangle you.
So we acknowledge the months - the 16th of every month. Neither of us knows the date of our "first" date - we sort of eased into the relationship and it seemed to just be there. :)
