The Sun claims loads of Americans are coming to the UK as "Asylum Seekers"?

Question

To take advantage of our free healthcare and social housing and benefit system, which is much more generous than the Welfare system in America.

A lot of them are black or ethnic minority Americans who are claiming that they are being "discriminated against" in the USA.

I can't beleive this? I though America was the "land of Opportunity" which all Europeans are "jealous" of and want to go to?

Could it be that the tables have turned? Despite all their "freedom and liberty" they are fed up of having to pay to see the doctor when they're sick and are coming back over the Atlantic!!!

Like we really need more Asylum Seekers over here!!

If the Sun said green was pink would you believe it? Surely nobody believes what the Sun says - it is a comic to fill 5 minutes - if you are lucky and read the adverts too.

I certainly would not be forming my opinions from the Sun and neither should thinking person.

Are you nuts. You have to be, there are more UK in the USA than Americans in the UK. If the Americans go there is because they have family connections but not to get a better life. If they go they are not poor trying to get any benefits from the government. USA is not a third world country or you haven't notice. I think that your question is loaded.

You can't be serious! I think that the uk needs to be stricter about these kind of things. If you ask me no more asylum seekers should be allowed in the country and those that we already have should get jobs, live the british lifestyle and anyone found breaking the law should be shipped straight back to the bloody middle east or which ever other god forsaken place they came from!

America USA is under Bush and Cheney losing the middle class cutting social services so tax's cuts for the wealthy..check on www.hud.gov discrimination is way up in that program which is an overall indicator. homelessness is on the rise and hurricane Katrina's poorest mostly black are many still without.
we have third world areas in deep south Louisiana even before Katrina parts of Ala. Louisiana miss. Texas people die no welfare no help. even more than other places i hear suicide in America esp for homeless is way up and homeless is ever ion the rise 90k in la and not all get counted..in republican areas run out of town see law in las vegas just passed law against feeding the poor in parks. you'd think was group of dictatorships any where republicans rule.....heil bush?

I've noticed alot of polish, but no Americans at the moment. We need to start basing what people get in way of benifits against what they put into our society. At the moment people can just come into the country and they are intitled to the same as those who have worked for years.
People that are born in this country, whatever religion or colour deserve to get more than those who move here to take. Lets look after our own first and then maybe people will realise that we are not here just as a handout.

Maybe you should read a proper paper not that piece of rubbish. The Sun claimed new EU immigrants were coming to UK in May 04 to milk your social system. Which of course they didn't, because they're not allowed to claim unless they've worked for 2 years at least. I know 'cos I'm one of them and I came here a year before May 04 and I swore to myself I will never ever ever claim benefits in UK, I'll rather starve to death. Nobody needs your flippin' benefits, only you yourselves!

I read the article you are referring to. the reporter said he came across some black americans who were claiming asylum because of racial descrimination in USA but admitted to the reporter that they just wanted the free healthcare and welfare.

I don't get why they won't accept people who are ethnicly British to move there but allow Asians and Africans to flood in.

Americans have always been coming here for the free health treatments on the NHS, and yet no body says anything about because they are white. As soon as an African person gets any help its all over the papers.
I think the Americans will be welcomed with open arms if they are white.

The Sun is a rag, the worst newspaper in circulation. Don't believe anything you read in it (or see because some of those page three models aren't all they are made out to be); switch to The Daily Mail where all is truth and light.
